I’m reposting this for MLK Day 2013.  As the election race of 2012 entered it’s final months and candidates continued to marginalize Americans for political gain, I was reminded of Dr. King’s words “I don’t mind.”  I created this political cartoon for MLK Day in 2012 to serve as a reminder that people have used whatever ignorant and wicked words they could to detract from the accomplishments of those who live and look different from themselves.  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s final speech reminds us that the climb to peace, unity, and progress will be a difficult one.  But as we look back from the long path that we’ve traveled towards the arduous road ahead we’re thankful for our successes, and to all our detractors we simply say “I don’t mind.”
